Immanuel Christian Reformed Church

The Immanuel Church’s growing congregation has led to the need for additional modern classrooms for the church’s educational programs. The project includes the addition of 5 classrooms, a large meeting and fellowship room, an enclosed courtyard and an expanded Narthex. The classrooms are organized around a central exterior courtyard to provide secure outdoor space for daycare and Sunday school use. The enclosed exterior courtyard provides ample room for larger outside gatherings and events such as wedding, funerals and celebrations with direct access from the Narthex and adjacency to the sanctuary.

The expanded Narthex is a double height enclosure providing a linear organizational spine through the center of the building with a cadence of heavy timber structure ordering the space. Large southern exposure windows allow ample natural light into the gathering space.
