Richard Bulpitt Elementary School is based upon the use of a previous design in order to achieve the accelerated completion date, as requested by School District No.35. Modifications were required to update the layout to Ministry of Education standards, Neighbourhood Learning Center requirements, site specific requirements, as well as LEED Gold certification. Significant design features include the extensive use of wooden structure through the library and administration area, as well as in two raised clerestories over the second floor corridor.
CHPA helped manage a tender closing for early July 2012, allowing for thirteen months of construction. The timeline for school opening on the first day of September 2013 was achieved.
